about me
Junior isshin
Hello! I'm Isshin Midorikawa and I've been living in Japan since I was born. Yes, I am full Japanese (quarter taiwanese actually, but that doesn't really matter anyways) but ironically I feel much more comfortable speaking English than my broken Japanese. I live with a family of 4 people, including my dad, mom, myself and my younger brother. The house is always chaotic because my brother and I tend to talk back to our mom and because of that they're constant arguments between us. But don't worry, no big deal I will learn to respect my parents a little more in the future.
Anyways, I've been attending Hokkaido International School since kindergarten so I guess I'm a veteran? They're still classmates that has been with me since we were still immature and probably will be graduating together which is pretty nice. The reason why I'm at this school anyways is because my father is a graduate of this school and he strongly recommended me as a young boy to study english. If it wasn't for my dad I would of ended up in a normal japanese school, which could of been a nice experience, but I'd say I can enjoy myself at HIS than any other school.
Enough with school stuff yeah? Let's talk about my hobbies or something, perhaps that's a bit more interesting. So since 2 years old, my favorite thing to do was to play video games. I still remember my first game was Mario Kart on the Super Famicom (classic yeah) where I trained my gaming mechanics. My freshman and sophomore year was a disaster when it comes to gaming. I wouldn't stop playing games and will prioritize it over school work and other important deeds I could have accomplished. Especially this game called "League of Legends" was just addictive and couldn't stop playing it. But now, as a junior I've finally realized how important studying is and right now the amount of games I play has decreased significantly and I'm really proud of myself. Of course at times I still play games usually on the Xbox 360 console. I enjoy playing games with my brother and my friends too. Sometimes it becomes competitive and frustrating, you know, it's only a game nobody should be angry over them. Although many of my friends still play "League of Legends" daily, I'm trying to limit myself from playing it too much and focus on other things. But as a gamer, I do feel like I have to play a lot more, or else everyone else will become better than me and a sore loser like me won't allow that.
I'm also very passionate about music. Music is my drug. I simply cannot survive the day without it, and because I'm picky with what I listen to, the music has to be from my iPod (the songs on the Home screen is just to get the feeling of a "Club" and is not my favorite music). It was my 6th grade year when my friend introduced me to Slipknot, a band that a 6th grader shouldn't be listening too, honestly. But somehow, it caught my attention and since that day, I have moved my music genre to "Metal/Rock" from "Random music I find online". As for now, bands I really enjoy listening to are... can't choose because I love all of them! I'll just give you an list if thats ok.
-Pierce the Veil
-Eyes Set to Kill
-I See Stars
-Sleeping With Sirens
-All Time Low
-Alesana
AND A LOT MORE. I DON'T WANT TO FILL THE WHOLE PAGE WITH BAND NAMES SO YEAH.
Oh yeah, the thing I hate the most when I'm listening to my music is when people tries to talk to me when I have my earphones/headphones on. I listen to music very loudly and so do not expect me to talk back or answer you. Here's something you should know:
No earphones= "go ahead and talk to me."
Earphone plugged in one ear="you can talk to me but I'd rather listen to my music."
Earphones plugged in both ears="do not talk to me. leave me alone."
I also enjoy playing sports and move around, in order to keep me fit and because it is simply fun to do. For my after school activities, I have joined basketball, soccer and the workout club before. My favorite out of these clubs is basketball, and I am planning to keep on playing in the team until I graduate. We have basketball tournaments with other international schools every year, which is also something I really am excited for every year. As for soccer, I've been in a join and quit cycle since 7th grade; I would play for a year and quit for a year. I really do enjoy playing soccer too, but I would rather play it as my hobby rather than as a school team. I joined workout club to keep my body fit, since I don't necessarily try to keep my body fit in my daily life. Since I spend my time in front of my computer during the weekends, I thought this club was a good opportunity to redeem myself. Before I was in junior high, I've also spent my whole elementary life in a japanese baseball team. I did quit after 6th grade, but I would still consider baseball as my best sport. Besides all that, I also enjoy bowling and going to swimming pools with my friends.
